Position Summary

As Business Development Manager you will lead and implement effective business development and client engagement activities for Ecosave to generate and win new opportunities in our core markets. In this role you will become part of our highly motivated business development team focussed on creating value adding offerings from our Advisory, Engineering, Efficiency, Automation, Maintenance and Power Quality business units as well as supporting our EaaS division for our clients in the government, health, hospitality, industrial, education, financial, commercial and real estate sectors across the Australian and New Zealand Market.

The role encompasses all facets of business development from the identification of opportunities through to assistance with proposal development, submission and post submission negotiations.

Building a good technical and commercial understanding of all of Ecosave’s offerings, being able to listen and understand client’s business and then clearly articulate Ecosave’s value proposition to prospective clients will be key to the success of the individual.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build industry networks and engagement strategies focused on identifying industry trends and new customers in Ecosave’s core markets
  • Lead the customer interaction through every phase of the proposal/pursuit by leading pitch discussions, contract negotiations, price negotiations and ultimately, the securing of the contract
  • Generate and deliver initial presentations with potential clients to offer services
  • Solidify strong relationships with customer decision makers with the aim of becoming their preferred partner within the emissions reduction sector in Australia and New Zealand
  • Develop strong pursuit strategies, ensuring that Ecosave is well prepared prior to issue of EOI/RFT’s/RFP’s, maximising opportunities for sole source awards
  • Engage in strategic discussions with clients in relation to their current and future business requirements by offering tailored solutions based on their needs
  • Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders to bring the best of Ecosave to each and every opportunity
  • Analyse projects completed for existing clients to identify and proactively offer additional services that add value to our clients and Ecosave
  • Where applicable work with external companies to understand and strategise synergies where partnership offering provides a superior outcome to the client

Key Competencies Required

To be considered for this role, you will need to have demonstrated business development experience and possess high levels of proficiency in the following areas:

  • A team player that ensures their actions are in the best interests of the business development team and wider Ecosave business
  • Experience in Zoho CRM Plus, Salesforce or similar CRM platform from both an opportunity management and analytics perspective
  • Document client interaction via call reports
  • Up-to-date on the latest emissions reduction solutions including but not limited to energy efficiency and renewable generation trends, products and equipment
  • Effective interpersonal skills to develop good working relationships
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office 365 suite
  • Ability to work autonomously and within cross-functional teams
  • Work well under pressure and to tight deadlines

Essential Qualifications

  • 10 years industry experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar business development role including knowledge of technical, project delivery and or business management concepts within the emissions reduction industry
  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, business or project management, Masters and or MBA would be highly advantageous


Ecosave offers the flexibility of an office/WFH based role from any East Coast Ecosave office location. As this is a client facing role some domestic travel will be required.
