Sydney: Ecosave Australia & New Zealand was honoured as a National Finalist for Promoting Sustainability at the 2022 Telstra Best of Business Awards held in Sydney on April 13, 2022. It should be noted that the company was earlier awarded as the State Winner (Victoria) for Promoting Sustainability by Telstra.
The Telstra Best of Business Awards celebrates the triumphs and victories of small and medium-sized business platforms, as they share these achievements with their peers and become Australia’s next top business leaders. There were more than 24,000 nominations across eight different categories for this year’s awards. The ‘Promoting Sustainability’ category honours businesses that reduce their environmental impact by driving sustainable change within their industry for a cleaner and healthier planet.
Speaking about Ecosave’s achievement, the company’s Group Managing Director Robin Archibald said, “Being the national finalist is an achievement by itself and we are humbled by this recognition. We shall continue with our mission to deliver independent resource management and energy conservation services to our clients. This award complements our core mission to ‘Imagineer a Sustainable Future’ for everyone to achieve our national goal of Net Zero by 2050.” He also went on to congratulate other finalists and the winners.
Sea Forest, an Australian eco-tech company, was the national winner for Promoting Sustainability. Sea Forest is said to be among the first companies to commercially grow Asparagopsis, a native red seaweed with the ability to significantly reduce livestock methane emissions. The other finalists in the category included Big Shed Brewing, Go for Zero, NatureArt Lab, Renew IT Pty Ltd, and Rocky Ridge Brewing Co.
Ecosave’s recognition for Promoting Sustainability also coincides with the company’s 20th anniversary this year (2022). Over the years, Ecosave has been helping organisations and businesses achieve their sustainability goals. In fact, over the last two decades, Ecosave has successfully completed more than 3000 projects. Most recently, Ecosave helped Holiday Inn Express – Newcastle become the first hotel in Australia to be certified as a carbon neutral building.
As a concluding message, Mr. Archibald also mentioned how the recognition reemphasised Ecosave’s commitment to its stakeholders. “Coinciding with our mission and vision to help our clients eliminate their reliance on polluting resources, participating and being recognised in this prestigious award ceremony represents our success in guiding our stakeholders towards sustainable economic development,” he said.
