Stockland is one of the top 30 ASX listed companies and one of the largest diversified Property Groups in Australia with operations in New Zealand and Great Britain as well.
Stockland’s stated aim is to integrate sustainability considerations and initiatives into everyday business, for the most efficient management of Energy and Water in their Shopping Centres. Stockland has undertaken a program of optimizing consumption of energy and water in 20 of their existing shopping centres around Australia. This project is now nearing completion.
After initial installations in Bathurst, Batemans Bay and Wetherill Park in New South Wales, it was decided to extend the program to a further 18 centres, covering a geographic spread from Perth to Cairns.
The solutions implemented were:
- The refurbishment of twin fluorescent light fittings whilst maintaining light levels.
- Installing voltage reduction units
- Installing lighting controls.
- Replacing of high and low voltage halogen lights.
- Optimizing air conditioning (AC) systems compressor run times, whilst maintaining existing comfort.
- Modifying Building Management System (BMS) control strategies.
- Installing CO2 sensors, Variable Speed Drives to AC supply fans, and modifying BMS control strategies whilst maintaining existing indoor comfort conditions.
- Installing CO sensors and Variable Speed Drives in Car park extraction systems.
Ecosave donates to Greening Australia, one native seedling for every tonne of CO2 and every 100 kilolitres of water saved, which additionally enhances the environment
