The Western Sydney Area Health Service (WSAH) covers a geographical area spanning from Auburn to the Blue Mountains. Through its constituent units, WSAH is committed to the pursuit of excellence in health care delivery and health advancement, efficient resource management and promotion of research and teaching. The Area exists to service the community through health advancement and the provision of accessible, quality health care.
Ecosave provided WSAH with cost effective energy conservation solutions to reduce their electricity consumption and help the environment. These solutions were implemented in their Westmead and Blacktown Hospitals
The solutions that have been implemented are:
- The refurbishment of triple and twin fluorescent light fittings to a single tube,
installing a high performance reflector and new electronic control gear.
- The replacement of triple, twin and single fluorescent light fittings to a single
tube with electronic control gear, installing a high performance reflector.
- The replacement of incandescent light fittings with compact fluorescent
light fittings.
- Installing lighting controls in laboratories to switch off lights at times when
they are not required.
Ecosave donates to Greening Australia, one native seedling for every tonne of CO2 and every 100 kilolitres of water saved, which additionally enhances the environment
